Protecting Oakland County Drivers for 20+ Years
About
Matthew A. Fraiberg
Matthew A. Fraiberg has been practicing law since 1997. With a background as a former City Prosecutor, he has the experience, passion, and work ethic to understand the stress that comes with being arrested and charged with a crime. The time he has spent on the other side of the courtroom gives him valuable insight and his clients an advantage the defense will not expect.
Matthew Fraiberg represents people throughout Michigan, including but not limited to Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne Counties. He takes genuine pride in his ability to connect with locals and offer them knowledgeable, cost-effective, and efficient representation. The criminal justice system can feel one-sided to people being accused of a serious crime. It is his goal to let them know they have rights, and he has the ability to uphold and preserve them.
Prior to becoming a criminal defense attorney, Attorney Fraiberg has experience as a judicial clerk and assistant legal research clerk for Oakland County circuit court judges. His previous experience working as a clerk in the Oakland County 6th Circuit Court has given him invaluable insight into the inner workings of the criminal justice system and the ability to work with the courts to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients.
In 2018, he was given a prestigious AV Preeminent® Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®. To earn this rating – the highest offered by Martindale-Hubbell® – an attorney must be considered by their peers as outstanding in terms of both skill and ethical standards. In other words, both clients and other legal professionals trust Attorney Fraiberg when the stakes are high.
In 2022, Attorney Fraiberg was appointed to the OCBA’s Michigan Indigent Defense Commission Advisory Group. Here, he works hard to educate public defenders and improve the criminal justice system in Oakland County and throughout Michigan.
Criminal defense is the body and majority of Attorney Fraiberg’s work. However, he also accepts high-stakes divorce cases, typically involving complex assets and business valuations.
